 We are incredibly excited to introduce the new: Sonus Faber OMNIA This is an important product in the already impressive Sonus Faber line up. Existing fans of the brand will be as excited as us to see it is now possible to get a taste of Sonus Faber in every room.. The OMNIA is a wireless speaker with the sound & design you would expect from the Italian manufacturer Sonus Faber. Established 40 years ago and famous for landmark designs such as the Aida & Amati loudspeakers plus, the Audio System fitted to the incredible Pagani motor cars, the OMNIA offers full connectivity to internet streaming services as well as, a host of inputs to connect various devices including.. A phono stage for Turntables!  Available in two distinct finishes, walnut and graphite, the OMNIA also features a touch sensitive top panel. Named SENSO this panel allows control over the OMNIA in addition to the included remote control and / or smart phone. The SENSO panel also illuminates to indicate which input, streaming service and volume level is currently selected.  Featuring 7 drivers built into a sealed enclosure the OMNIA delivers immense room filling sound with 490w of amplification. Not wishing to leave room acoustics to ruin the party, Sonus Faber have implemented incredible optimisation technology called CRESCENDO. This technology uses advanced signal processing to ensure OMNIA sounds amazing no matter where you listen to music. With a choice of room placement and EQ settings available to ensure maximum performance, OMNIA will work in any space, delivering rich, smooth sound.  Tidal Connect, Spotify and Roon ready (of course) However, going one step further, the OMNIA also supports full connectivity with Apple Airplay 2, Google Chromecast and High Fidelity APTX for streaming over Bluetooth. What this means is you can take your favourite device, be it iPhone, MacBook (or any other supported phone / tablet / computer) and send your music directly to OMNIA to experience maximum sound quality. Total flexibility to enjoy your music in any space you desire.  With the addition of an HDMI (ARC) input you can even connect your TV to use the OMNIA as an exceptional soundbar!  We are extremely excited to welcome Boenicke Audio to our showroom portfolio. We often get approached by Hi-Fi companies to add their products to our demo range however, when Whole Note distribution contacted us to try out Boenicke speakers, we were very keen to try them as they looked stunning. What we did not expect, is what came next.. The moment we connected the speakers and heard them, we were left speechless. How is it possible such a tiny speaker (W5 is less than 30cm in height) can produce such an incredible sound that fills the room and makes the hairs on your neck stand up.... After listening to several albums, the decision was made...!  The Brand: Based in Basel, Switzerland, owner & designer Sven Boenicke has specialised in producing hand finished speakers since 1998. The current range designated ‘W’ model (s) are easily recognisable due to the use of solid wood enclosures, and striking form factor. Each model uses components specially selected for their qualities to recreate a musical performance as accurately as possible. At the heart of Boenicke products is the ability to convey musicality, tone and emotion. Critical to the reproduction qualities of Boenicke speakers is the care and attention shown by Sven in the design and evaluation phase. How many manufacturers take the time to check the correct sonic orientation of drivers; utilise LessLoss internal cabling, or install a range of tuning options as the model range progresses, without the negative influence of cost constraints?  W5Standing just 293 mm tall and 104 mm wide, the W5 doesn’t impose itself on any listening space. Once you listen, you’ll be hooked on just how big the little W5 sounds. Boasting just 2.8 L of cabinet volume, the W5 really shouldn’t fill your listening space with such grace and ease! Punchy bass comes from a driver capable of 18.5 mm of excursion. A liquid and lucid midrange with an accurate top end emanates from the 3’’ wide-bander made to spec just for Boenicke Audio. The ambient rear tweeter complements the main drive units and augmented by premium silk-wrapped Litz hookup wiring and WBT NextGen binding posts, this is a very grown-up little speaker. Expect the usual Boenicke sound staging as breathtaking as any vast landscape, a liquid midrange, accurate tone and harmonics which combine to connect you to your music in a way that defies what you thought possible. You’ll note how the design aspects flow from the little W5 into the side-firing woofer and widebander to which the W8 adds a dedicated midrange and larger ambient tweeter. The midrange driver is a custom design and sports an apple tree phase plug and maple cone on the back of the magnet. Expect deeper and more plentiful bass with the ability to fill most domestic listening spaces. Crafted for those with larger listening spaces, W11 takes the emotive performance of the W5 / W8 to a new level. The carbon-fibre honeycomb woofer adds a new bass dimension. Fine adjustments to it can be made to ensure room-tailored performance courtesy of a super high-quality autoformer providing 2.5 dB increments of cut / boost. The custom wood-cone mid / woofer renders textures in instruments so real that you will reach out to touch what isn't physically present. Still far smaller than the photos suggest at just over 1m tall (short?) and containing built in amplification too.. While appearing similar to the W11, like with all Boenicke models there's more than meets the eye. Based on the same cabinet as the W11 but including, an active bass array with balanced-force woofers and programable DSP settings, this changes your perceptions of bass performance for a home audio speaker. Each aspect of the W13 improves over the other models and Sven uses all his available tuning tricks to take performance to unprecedented levels. It has certainly been an interesting time over the last year... Whilst adapting to working in a different way, it has been great to continue interacting (albeit remotely) with everyone. Challenges of doing home demos by sending equipment to your homes and then holding FaceTime / Zoom consolations whilst you are listening has certainly been a new experience! To the many of you who continued to purchase from us despite the absence of our demo facility, a big thank you for the support - it has been interesting to see how the home demo experience has been beneficial to so many, we will of course continue to offer this service and perhaps even expand this further. Our supplier and manufacturer partners have been incredibly busy over the last year and we have plenty of new products plus significant revisions to existing models too. Over the next few weeks we will introduce you to these exciting developments plus new arrivals in our demo stock. Another interesting part of the last year has been remotely diagnosing potential improvements in systems.
