A ground floor renovation presented the perfect time to update the multi room Crestron system and install a dedicated cinema room plus an easy to use TV system in the playroom for the kids. A second screen was installed on a cantilever bracket in the drawing room and linked to the cinema.
The cinema incorporates high quality AV components such as the Panasonic VX 50" Screen, Pioneer reference BluRay player, Apple TV and Exposure amplification. All easy to use with a single remote control.
Working with a specialist cabinet maker on the wood work we planned for a flush wall incorporating the screen and Totem speakers along with a deep cabinet section below to house all the Audio & Visual equipment for the house over several racks.
Crestron lighting & Media playback from iPod docks around the house is made possible with wall mounted keypads in each room.
The drawing room required a clean installation of another screen that would link to the cinema room for HD playback of BluRay DVD, Sky Hd & Apple TV.
A single remote control selects any of the above video sources and adjusts the volume of the invisible speakers.
When not being used the TV gently retracts into the alcove out of the way.
The playroom offers playback of all the kids movies digitally stored ready to watch at the touch of a button and keeping all those Disney disks away from sticky fingers !
The TV screen is Flush mounted into the bookcase and kept high out of the way of flying toys, All the important equipment is housed in the cinema room racking and connects the two rooms for movie & Sky HD playback.
In ceiling speakers provide music and playback of a library of children's stories all accessible from a single robust remote control.
The Crestron System :
All the family's music collections are spread across several iPods. When any of these are docked they can be accessed in any room by a simple wall mounted keypad.
The same keypads offer control of the lighting in each room with various mood settings saved to preset buttons.
A colour display lets you select tracks, playlists etc and control the volume of the invisible speakers in each room.
The equipment hub : We worked closely with the cabinet makers on all the aspects of cabinet design to ensure all the equipment fitted perfectly and remained 'invisible' Equipment used includes :
Crestron Digital Media Video Distribution
Onkyo AV Receiver
Approximate audio / visual equipment cost £20,000
